How long can I keep my drink hot/cold in the cup?
The Fressko cup can keep your drink hot and cold for up to 3 hours - this figure will vary depending on a few factors: integrity of insulation (spout open/closed, tightness of lid, integrity of silicone stopper under, health of vacuum seal etc.) ambient temperature (some heat/cold will be lost slowly through the lid as it is not vacuum sealed) and ice cubes (ice keeps cold drinks cold for longer, at the expense of dilution).

Can I put my cup in the microwave to reheat the drinks inside it?
No. It is very dangerous to put stainless steel in the microwave, whether filled with liquid or not. Do not put your Fressko cup in the microwave!

Can I wash my cup in the dishwasher?
The lid of the cup can be safely washed in a dishwasher. However, we highly recommend washing your cup by hand to preserve the non-slip base. Also, sometimes you can get marks on the exterior of your cup from the high temperature and pressure of the water in the dishwasher; it might ruin the look of the cup!

Do take note that the deterioration of the anti-slip base and any marks or dents caused by the use of a dishwasher is not covered under the warranty!

So... is it spillproof or leakproof?
Used under the recommended instructions, the lid is in fact leakproof - we have tried this on our own cups (yes, we use the Fressko cups too!) and we haven't experienced any leaks so far. However, as we do not have control over how the cups and lids are secured and used, we say spillproof instead, as they are guaranteed spillproof. Topple it all you want!

Recommended way to secure the lid:

1. Ensure that your drink does not exceed the maximum volume of the cup - 8oz for Bino, 12oz for Camino.
2. Ensure that the silicone seal on the lid is properly attached. It should fit perfectly in the groove at the top of the threads.
3. Screw the lid onto the cup with the spout open. This is especially important with hot drinks, as you want some steam to escape and not build up a high pressure from within the cup too soon.
4. Once the lid is screwed on tight, wait about 30 seconds to a minute. Then try to tighten the lid again. You should be able to tighten it even further than before.
5. Repeat step 4 once more for good measure - generally when the spout aligns to the engraved "Made by Fressko" logo at the front of the cup, the seal should be tight enough.
6. Close the spout and press it firmly shut.

Will the cup retain a coffee smell after prolonged use?
Stainless still will not hold an odour if it is washed after use. We recommend rinsing your cup with water if you're out for the day and have finished your takeaway coffee. We have used our cups regularly for almost a year now and the cup still smells fresh and clean!

NOTE: When you're washing the Fressko cup, remember to remove the silicone O-ring from under the lid and wash both thoroughly, regularly. Coffee and milk tend to dry up within these crevices and go unnoticed if you're not careful. This is what causes the smell of coffee to stay in the cup - also because the vacuum sealing of the cup is that good, the smell doesn't really get to escape!
